TicoBlockchain 2026 Brings Blockchain and Fintech Leaders to San José

Asociación Blockchain Costa Rica (AsoBlockchain), together with Asociación Fintech Costa Rica, brought together leaders from the blockchain and fintech sectors, public institutions, regulatory authorities, the banking industry, investors, startups, and technology companies for TicoBlockchain 2026: Blockchain & Fintech Day. https://www.ticoblockchain.cr/

Held on May 14, 2026, at the Hotel Barceló San José, the event marked the sixth edition of TicoBlockchain and served as one of the opening events of Costa Rica Tech Week.

The gathering focused on the new rails of the digital economy, with an agenda covering payments, stablecoins, digital assets, tokenization, Web3 regulation, programmable privacy, digital trust infrastructure, artificial intelligence, and real-world blockchain adoption.

TicoBlockchain 2026 was supported by key partners including Visa, Wink, Nimiq, Artemis, Olanzo, Lulubit, Iitos, BN Fondos, Tether, and Teledolar, as well asmedia partnersLa República and Coin Edition. Their participation reflected the growing commitment of organizations across finance, technology, legal services, media, and blockchain to supporting innovation, education, and ecosystem development in Costa Rica and the wider region.

The main stage featured keynote presentations and panels addressing the modernization of financial services, investment perspectives for 2026, fintech for good, Ethereum infrastructure for the public sector, digital asset regulation, opportunities for Stellar in Latin America, and the growing role of stablecoins in payments.

Alongside the conference program, the workshops track gave participants a hands-on look at practical blockchain and fintech applications. Sessions included topics such as crypto app development, bridges between crypto and local banking, digital identity on the blockchain, privacy, and regulation. The program also included startup pitch sessions featuring emerging projects from across the ecosystem.

TicoBlockchain 2026 highlighted how blockchain and fintech are moving beyond theory into practical use cases across Latin America. Discussions explored applications in finance, governance, infrastructure, agriculture, environmental conservation, public-sector transparency and technology-enabled traceability.

Beyond the main agenda, TicoBlockchain 2026 created multiple spaces for connection, from startup showcases and panel discussions to networking breaks and a closing cocktail. These moments helped strengthen collaboration across the digital finance and blockchain ecosystem and opened the door to new partnerships and initiatives.

The event underscored Costa Rica’s growing role as a regional meeting point for blockchain and fintech innovation. As digital finance continues to evolve, TicoBlockchain 2026 showed that meaningful progress will depend on practical use cases, open dialogue, responsible regulation, and collaboration across the ecosystem.
