Hacker House Costa Rica 2025: A Boost to Blockchain Innovation in Latin America

San José, Costa Rica – Excitement and creativity are in the air as Hacker House Costa Rica 2025 opened its doors this week, marking a milestone in the development of modular blockchain technology in Latin America. This unique event, which will run from February 4th to 9th, brings together six Costa Rican teams that will participate in Celestia’s Mammothon, a global hackathon taking place online throughout the month of February.

A Space for Collaboration and Learning

Hacker House Costa Rica 2025 is not just an event, it is a transformative experience. Thanks to the support of Cumulo, a Spanish company validating the Celestia network, this initiative becomes the first of its kind in Latin America, offering teams the opportunity to meet in person for an intense week of work, collaboration and learning.

Participants will have the privilege of coding together, exchanging ideas and receiving mentorship from industry experts. In addition, they will have the guidance of renowned local mentors such as Alfredo Bonilla (CofiBlocks), Roberto Ramírez (Hallos), Daniel Bejarano and Jonatan Chaverri (Dojo Coding) who will share their knowledge and experiences to drive the development of innovative applications.

International Presence and Community Support

The event will feature the in-person participation from Spain of Mon and Sami, members of the Cumulo team, who will provide a global perspective and share their expertise with the participants. In addition, exclusive virtual talks will be offered with Mammothon partners, giving the teams the opportunity to learn from industry leaders and expand their knowledge of the latest trends in blockchain technology.

Moncho Santos Dios, is a technology expert with experience in web development, blockchain and digital education. He has a degree in ICT and Internet Programming, a Master’s degree in Free Software and a Diploma in Business Administration. He has contributed to projects such as Celo and is co-founder of Cumulo Pro and validator at Celestia. Sami, with more than 20 years of experience as an industrial design technician, has focused on the blockchain sector, highlighting his role as regional lead for Concordium and his experience at Stakely Validator. Currently, he is CEO and project manager of Cumulo, where he works alongside Mon.

Hacker House Costa Rica 2025 is an initiative promoted by Asociación Blockchain Costa Rica and Cúmulo, two organizations committed to the development of the modular blockchain ecosystem in Costa Rica. The event is supported by Hallos and Dojo Coding, two local companies that share the vision of promoting innovation and talent in the field of technology. The venue for the event is Republic Workspace San Pedro, an inspiring space that fosters creativity and collaboration.

Towards TicoBlockchain 2025

The Hacker House is an event that is part of the path towards TicoBlockchain 2025, Blockchain & Fintech Day co-organized by the Blockchain Association Costa Rica and the Fintech Association Costa Rica. This event, to be held on March 27, 2025, will bring together experts, entrepreneurs and enthusiasts of blockchain and fintech technology to explore the latest trends, opportunities and challenges in the sector.

During Ticoblockchain, all teams participating in the Hacker House will receive recognition for their dedication and effort, celebrating their contribution to the advancement of blockchain technology in Costa Rica.

Celestia’s Mammothon: A Global Challenge

The Mammothon is a global hackathon hosted by Encode and Celestia, where participants have the opportunity to build unstoppable applications on modular infrastructures and compete for $250,000 in prizes. Running online throughout the month of February, the challenge allows developers to explore the potential of blockchain technology and create innovative solutions for a wide range of industries.
