The fifth edition of  TicoBlockchain 2025, took place on March 27, bringing together over 300 attendees in San José for a full day of discussions on the future of decentralized finance and emerging technologies.

This year’s edition featured more than 30 speakers from across Latin America and beyond, representing leading companies such as Visa, Mastercard, Chainmyne, RedFi, Tesseras Labs, and Cumulo Pro, along with rising local startups and ecosystem leaders.

The program covered key topics including asset tokenization, open finance, regional regulation, and how artificial intelligence is increasingly intersecting with decentralized systems. Sessions also explored how Costa Rica’s national tools like SINPE and digital signature infrastructure can be integrated with fintech innovation.

This year’s edition saw the highest attendance to date, which reflects the ecosystem’s steady growth and increasing interest in these technologies,” said Karla Córdoba Brenes, President of the Costa Rica Blockchain Association, AsoBlockchain.

“The participation of international speakers from Norway, Spain, Canada, Panama, Brazil, Chile, and beyond shows the growing global interest in what’s unfolding within Costa Rica’s ecosystem,” said José Miguel Zamora Barquero, President of the Costa Rica Fintech Association.

The day wrapped up with a closing ceremony, awards, and the Fintech After Office by Mastercard, a more informal space where conversations continued offstage. The next TicoBlockchain will take place in March 2026.
